Shannon Technical Services moves its safety reporting onto a single cloud platform to meet tightening EU compliance rules

Shannon Technical Services (STS), an EASA-regulated maintenance organisation, has selected REDiFly SMS, a cloud-hosted safety management platform, to consolidate reporting, risk assessment, corrective-action tracking and management-of-change processes that had previously been spread across separate systems. The platform is designed for mobile-first use, letting frontline maintenance staff file a report in under two minutes rather than waiting to reach a desktop system, and automatically surfaces trends and recurring issues across the reports it collects rather than relying on staff to notice patterns manually. STS's head of CAMO, Eoin Byrne, framed the adoption as a response to organisational growth rather than a reaction to any specific incident: "partnering with REDiFly strengthens the systems behind that growth, providing greater visibility, control and traceability across our operations." REDiFly says the platform is built to align with ICAO Annex 19 Edition 3 (Amendment 2), the current global standard for state and operator safety management systems, and supports the documentation EASA-regulated organisations need under the bloc's Part-IS information-security rules, alongside allowing customisable workflows so operators can adapt it to processes they already have in place rather than replacing them outright.
Irish MRO provider Shannon Technical Services has adopted REDiFly SMS to unify reporting, risk assessment and audit tracking that previously sat across disconnected systems. The move is partly a compliance response — the platform is built to align with the latest ICAO safety-management standard and EASA's Part-IS requirements.
