EASA closes entries for its AI 'Olympics' testing real-world aviation systems

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has closed entries for what it calls its 'AI Olympics,' a competition inviting teams to demonstrate artificial-intelligence-based aviation systems under realistic operating conditions. The event is part of EASA's broader push, first set out in its AI Roadmap, to build practical evidence of how machine-learning tools perform in aviation contexts before wider regulatory guidance is finalized.
