FlyBy Aviation Academy, a Spain-based, EASA-approved pilot training organisation, has partnered with FlyData.io to equip 35 of its training aircraft with smart flight data recorders, a deal the two companies said in September 2026 is FlyData.io's largest contract by aircraft count to date. The recorders continuously capture high-frequency flight data spanning position, altitude, speed, pitch, bank angle, G-force, vibration, ambient sound and even cabin carbon-monoxide levels, feeding into a system that allows FlyBy to track its fleet in real time and reconstruct any given flight in three dimensions within minutes of an incident or an abnormal manoeuvre. FlyBy describes itself as the first flight training organisation in Spain, and among the earliest in Europe, to deploy a fleet-wide system at this scale rather than fitting recorders to only a subset of aircraft. FlyBy chief operating officer Victor Baz said the technology lets the academy "manage our fleet more efficiently, respond faster when it matters, and continuously raise the bar on training quality," while safety manager Marcia Nunes said the system "strengthens every layer" of the academy's safety management system and provides "richer material for effective, data-based debriefings" after training flights. The rollout reflects a broader move among European flight schools to adopt the kind of continuous flight-data monitoring long standard at commercial airlines, adapted here for the training environment specifically to support faster safety investigations and more evidence-based instructor feedback.

FlyBy Aviation Academy is deploying FlyData.io's smart recorders across its fleet, capturing everything from G-force to cabin air quality for live tracking and rapid post-incident reconstruction. It's the largest single contract by aircraft count in FlyData.io's history.
