EATS Cabin Crew Stream Will Test Whether CBTA Reaches the Real Cabin

Halldale
Halldale's preview of the European Aviation Training Summit's cabin crew stream says its theme is closing the gap between the training room and conditions in a real cabin. Moderated by Anna Mellberg Karlsson of SAS Connect, the stream centres on competency-based training and assessment alongside instructor calibration, immersive technology, disruptive passenger management and decision-making in non-scripted emergencies. A key piece of evidence is the D-CEET study, a €2.4 million investigation involving about 300 crew members that examines VR-based emergency training. A November 4 session is titled The Real Cabin: Evidence, Immersion and the Realities Cabin Crew Actually Face, and presenters across the stream include speakers from Lufthansa Aviation Training, Air Tanker, Jet2.com, CrewPath Academy, Skywings and Global Jet. On November 5 a workshop, Beyond the Certificate, looks at instructor capability, and the stream closes with a workshop called Off-Script: When Evacuations Don't Follow the Checklist. EATS 2026 is shifting toward workshops and working sessions rather than conventional lectures.
The November event's cabin crew track will present a €2.4 million study of about 300 crew testing VR emergency training. Sessions also cover instructor calibration and evacuations that don't follow the checklist.
