Air Astana will launch two new routes to Southeast Asia in December, according to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport. Astana-Bangkok starts on December 11 with two flights a week on an Airbus A321LR, and Almaty-Langkawi starts on December 25 with three weekly flights on an A321neo. The Bangkok service raises the number of Kazakhstan-Thailand routes from three to four and weekly frequencies from 18 to 20. Existing links include Almaty-Phuket with seven weekly Air Astana flights, Almaty-Bangkok with six weekly Air Astana flights plus three weekly Thai AirAsia X flights, and Shymkent-Bangkok with two weekly SCAT flights.
Kazakhstan's flag carrier will add a twice-weekly A321LR service to Bangkok on December 11 and a three-times-weekly A321neo route to Langkawi on December 25. The additions lift Kazakhstan-Thailand capacity to 20 weekly flights.
